Daya mina Christmas concert 2017
The month of December, is the busiest and the craziest month for the centre. This year too the most awaited event of the year, the Annual Christmas Concert was held on 7th and 8th of December. The event was coloured with a lot of items performed by the students at Daya Mina. Everyone shared the joy of Christmas! Merry Christmas to all!
Our World XVIII Exhibition 2017
Our World XVII is an exhibition organized Centers for those with special needs run by Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary. This event was held on 21st and 22nd on Nobember 2017 at the Lionel Wendtt Art Gallery Colombo. Students from Dayamina, Supem Uyana and Meth Mihira exhibited their works of art, handicrafts, candles, cards etc. The two days were full of activity, energy and joy!
Daya Mina Avurudu Celebrations 2017
The Annual Avurudu celebrations is one of most looked forward to events for the differently abled youth of Daya Mina. This year the event was organized and animated by the Marist Youth Ministry with the support of Sisters, Teachers & Parents of Daya Mina. The spirit of taking part is more prevalent than winning or losing which makes these children special as they teach others by their actions rather than words. The month of December is the busiest and the most eventful time for Children at Daya Mina. Every year the Annual Christmas Concert is the most awaited occasion on the Calendar. This year too, a wonderful concert was organized with the help of everyone... The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Archbishop Pierre Nguyên Van Tot, The Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka.
Daya Mina Walk October 2016
‘Daya Mina’ is a religious organisation run by the Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary who are determined to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the so-called “disabled” are in fact differently-abled in varying degrees and are far from being invalids of society. In celebration of the 25th Jubilee an awareness walk was organized on Saturday September 14, starting at 3.30 p.m. from the premises of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya to the quadrangle of St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya.
The colourful procession culminated in a fellowship and variety entertainment. The walk was attended by the students, staff, and parents of Daya Mina as well as friends, well-wishers and representatives from schools and colleges in the Colombo district. Several popular artists in the music and film industry also expected to participate.
